Christopher McKee, Jr., serves as senior pastor of the First Baptist Church of Oakland “The Oak” in Jacksonville, Florida.  He holds a Bachelor’s of Arts Degree in History with a minor in Religious Studies (Summa Cum Laude) from Youngstown State University and a Master of Divinity Degree from Yale Divinity School (New Haven, Connecticut) where he received the Mersick Prize for public speaking.  Pastor McKee is currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Transformational Leadership at the Colgate Rochester Crozer Divinity School (Rochester, New York).  Blessed with unique academic opportunities, Pastor McKee has studied on exchange at both the Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.) and Cambridge University (Cambridge, England).

Saved and baptized at the age of eight and called to preach at 18, Pastor McKee has been proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ for nearly 15 years in various pulpits across the United States and abroad.    Committed to ministry beyond the pulpit, he has served on the boards of the Mahoning Valley Organizing Collaborative, Access Health Mahoning Valley and advisory boards of other community organizations.  From 2013-2017 Pastor McKee served as senior pastor of the historic Tabernacle Baptist Church in Youngstown, Ohio.  On February 12, 2017, Pastor McKee received the call to lead “The Oak.” Pastor McKee brings to the pastoral ministry a sincere love of the Lord, a vision for social change and a divine calling to work toward the transformation of lives through the power of GOD’s Word.

The only son of Elder(s) Ann and Christopher McKee, Sr., Pastor McKee is a native of Youngstown, Ohio.  He blessed to share in the ministry of love and marriage with his beautiful wife, the former Éres Cristen Brown and together they are the proud parents of daughters, Karis Iman and Koryn Ivana.
