A Mind is a Terrible Thing to Waste

Philippians 4:8-9, New International Version

8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

Here is how we nourish our minds for the sake of peace, joy, contentment and accomplishment, regardless as to the circumstances we face:  

  1. Meditate, study and rehearse what is good - 8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
  2. Value the role of Godly mentors and thought leaders in our lives.  One of the greatest gifts we can give ourselves is being teachable - 9 Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice.  
  3. Invite the peaceful presence of GOD into our lives through an ongoing and growing relationship with Christ - And the God of peace will be with you.
